What Data We Store
Tab Complete for Splunk stores the following data locally in your browser:
Search History: Your recent SPL searches (up to 500 entries, auto-pruned after 90 days)
Field Cache: Field names discovered from your Splunk searches (up to 1,000 fields)
Command Frequency: How often you use each SPL command (for better suggestions)
User Preferences: Your extension settings
What We Don't Do
We do NOT transmit any data to external servers
We do NOT collect analytics or usage statistics
We do NOT access your Splunk credentials or authentication tokens
We do NOT read or store the actual data in your Splunk searches (only SPL queries)
We do NOT share any data with third parties
Data Storage
All data is stored using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API, which:
Keeps data on your device only
Is automatically cleared when you uninstall the extension
Can be manually cleared at any time via the extension options
Data Retention
Search history entries older than 90 days are automatically deleted
Storage is capped to prevent browser bloat
You can export, import, or clear all data at any time
Your Rights
You have full control over your data:
View: See all stored data via the extension options
Export: Download your data as JSON for backup
Delete: Clear all data with one click
Uninstall: Removing the extension deletes all associated data
